Benefits of drinking Tea

True tea, that which is derived from the plant Camellia sinensis, includes white, green, oolong, black and pu-erh.  All of these contain antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins (including A, B complex, E, K, and flavonoids) and minerals (including potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, calcium to name only a few).  True tea also contains caffeine, though the caffeine from tea reacts much differently in our bodies than that from coffee.  Because of other components in tea and how these bond chemically, caffeine absorption occurs over a longer period of time resulting in a sharpened mind, increased concentration and lack of fatigue.  Caffeine from coffee, on the other hand, has a direct effect on blood circulation, which results in accelerated heart rate.

Some of the major benefits of drinking tea include:

  • cardiovascular support
  • increased circulation
  • detoxification
  • reduced fatigue
  • decelerated aging process
  • aide in the prevention of certain types of cancer
  • digestive aide
  • reduced cholesterol
  • balanced body temperature
  • stronger immune system
  • enhanced concentration
